Old generation and New generation

The biggest difference between the older generation and the newer one is technology and how we communicate.  The newer generation is focused on communicating with friends, family, coworkers, and other people at light speed.  Also the new generation is about displaying their life online for the world to see; it is almost like they all want to be movie stars in the movie called "Life."  Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, and other sites have become not just a tool online, but a huge part of a person's life.  The older generation, like my father, still write letters, send cards, and like to talk on the phone.  So the biggest difference the speed and access to conversing.
Each generation grows and develops in different time of history. Nowadays, although the young generation inherits some life values from the previous generation, young people think and act differently. My generation has an abundance of distinguishable changes in comparison with my parents’ generation such as in education, lifestyle and social beliefs.Firstly, my generation are more educated. It might be impertinent to mention that my parents’ generation were not well-educated. However, it is a true. In the past, some of my parents’ friends did not have a chance to go to school since their family are all poor. They had to work to earn a few pennies to survive day by day. There were not enough student even for only one school in town. In contrast, today there are dozens of schools in that small town built for thousands of students. Many government policies had established for compulsory education in my entire country. Technological development bring the chances for people to learn more with the global connection through the internet. These make my generation get well-educated more than preceding one.Secondly, my generation has made their own lifestyle in a different way to my parents’ generation. We, young people, are interested in extracurricular activities even when we are in school. We want to challenge ourselves with difficulty to get extraordinary success. We like to travel to discover a new world and open our visions. It is unlike our parents when they prefer staying sticky at one and only one place to work and live.
Finally, the young generation is growing up with different social beliefs compare to the older generation such as religions or traditional values. In my parents’ time, women have to work hard and take care of their families as a duty. They were not acknowledged for that. The prejudices of society did not support women to get high position at work. However, it was changed in my generation when women work hard, get success and become as powerful as men.
To sum up, changing in the development and integration period of each country leads to the variation of the generation by generation. My parents’ generation might go behind the times in using high-tech devices, experiencing new places or in the way they live passively with the society’s prejudices. Nevertheless, it is undeniable they has been working hard to give a happy life to their children.
